Like everybody else, I have every intention of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and staying fit over the holidays, but with parties and gatherings that revolve around food and drinks, it sometimes gets difficult and requires a lot of self control. A few tips and tricks I’ve learned to live by for the holiday season are this:
- Don’t skip out on a workout because it’s too “cold”- your mind and body will feel SO good and rewarded after!
- Eat before you attend a holiday party so you’re less likely to reach for unhealthy food at the party.
- Cut the sugar in your dessert recipes in 1/2 (thanks mom for the great tip).
- Don’t limit yourself completely. Feel free to indulge in some sweets/delicious food/drinks but do so with a limit (chewing minty gum or brushing my teeth immediately after eating what I want helps me cut myself off)
