Happy New Year everyone! It’s crazy to think that 2017 is already in full swing…how did that happen so quickly?! If you read this post reviewing the best of Torey’s Treasures in 2016, then you know I rang in the New Year in Tahoe skiing and spending quality time with my boyfriend and friends! It was an absolute blast, and as you can see, we almost got snowed in the last day 😉 I’m so thankful for memories (like my boyfriend and I’s annual NYE ski trip) that will last a lifetime, which also gives us time to reflect and talk about the year ahead!
Do you make resolutions!? Do you set goals?! And most importantly, do you stick to them? In last year’s New Year’s resolution post here, I talked all about constantly setting goals for myself throughout the year. I personally think New Year’s resolutions are a bit cliche, so I figure, if I’m going to better myself, there’s no better time than the present to do so, which could be in July, it could be last month or it could be tomorrow! Whenever the time is right to make a change for the better, it takes self-motivation to discipline yourself. It definitely helps to keep yourself accountable by writing down your goals which leads me to today’s blog post.
Every day, week, and year, I’m constantly making my health a priority. (You can find out how and see all of my health and fitness posts on Torey’s Treasures here.) However, I’ll admit there is one area I know I’m capable of improving on and now I’m determined to minimize my sugar intake. I have such a sweet tooth (thanks to my Danish genes) and unfortunately love to curb the craving at the end of the day with some ice cream or chocolate. The last week I’ve come to the conclusion that eating sweets seems to be more of a habit than an actual necessity since I lasted our whole vacation without sweets (and I survived..haha!). I’m going to continue to make my health a priority each day this year.
In addition, I’d love to get more personal, be more vulnerable, and become more open on Torey’s Treasures. I have been hesitant to put myself out there in the blogging world because there are so many potential opinions or feedback that I could receive. However, YOUR feedback and encouragement on posts like these are what I so appreciate and are so inspiring!
With all that being said, I’d also love to push myself creatively on the blog. It’s challenging to stand out as a blogger these days in the saturated market, but this is one of my main goals for Torey’s Treasures in 2017. I’d love to hear what you want to see more of- fitness, lifestyle? All ideas are welcome! Cheers to 2017 🙂
