Are you ready for a tropical getaway and in need of a quick escape? Look no further than the charming town of Key West! This hidden gem is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway filled with sun, sand, and sea. And if you’re looking for the perfect place to stay, look no further than the Pier House- it’s the perfect location, has its’ own private beach, delicious brunch dining on the water, and the best margs!
Back in 2020, we actually drove down to the Keys on a little day trip (which his totally doable), so I wrote a full “Day Trip to the Florida Keys from Miami” blog post if you’re interested in reading that 🙂 But for a FULL weekend away in Key West, this is the travel guide for you…
The Pier House is the epitome of luxury and relaxation. With its prime location on the waterfront, you can wake up to the sound of the waves and the salty sea air. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and decorated in a classic Key West style. Plus, with amenities like a spa, a pool, and a restaurant, you won’t want to leave.
But, let’s be real, you didn’t come all this way to stay cooped up in your room. So why not explore the beautiful reefs that Key West is famous for? Strap on your snorkeling gear and get ready for a day of adventure. The reef is filled with colorful fish, vibrant coral, and even the occasional sea turtle. We used Sebago for the morning snorkeling tour which was the perfect 3-hour outing!
After a day of swimming with the fishes, it’s time to explore the town of Key West. This charming little town is packed with history, culture, and charm. From the Ernest Hemingway Home (this is a fun tour I did in years past) and the touristy vibes of Duval Street, there is something for everyone. And, of course, no trip to Key West is complete without a slice of Key Lime Pie (omg trust me!!!).
But, let’s be real, the best part of any vacation is the food. And Key West is no exception. With its Caribbean and Cuban influences, the food in Key West is a fusion of flavors and cultures. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, a juicy burger, or a tasty taco, you’ll find it here. And don’t forget to wash it down with a frozen concoction or two. Our favorites were: Cuban Queen Coffee, and brunch at One Duval. A few restaurants that came highly recommended were: Blue Heaven, First Flight, Bo’s Fish Sandwiches.
So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and head to Key West for a weekend of fun and relaxation. With its prime location, luxurious accommodations, and endless activities, Key West is the perfect destination for a quick getaway. And who knows, you might even decide to stay a little longer. After all, the laid-back lifestyle and tropical paradise of Key West is hard to resist.
