At the beginning of this year I started a new Gratitude practice, using this quick 5-minute journal writing down daily things I am grateful for, either big or small. It has been such a good reminder to focus on the positive in life, and it has surprised me how many little things have made the list each day. If you are new to gratitude journaling, it can often feel intimidating or like there isn’t anything big and important that you can be grateful for that day. But truly, the things that I find myself writing about the most has been the small, sometimes overlooked things that bring a little joy to your day.
I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites this week in case you are feeling inspired to spark joy in the little things and small moments in your life. Give them a try, trust me, you won’t believe the impact these small things can have on your daily life!

- Programmable coffee makers – phew what a simple thing (seriously, they’ve been around for decades!), but what a big difference it makes waking up to a hot pot of coffee. No more shuffling around in your pre-caffeine haze trying to pour coffee grounds into your coffee maker. Just set it the night before and you will wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee every single morning. Game changer if you are a caffeine lover like me!
- Good quality workout gear – this might seem silly but I swear a good pair of Align leggings from Lululemon are such a good closet staple, and they seriously last for YEARS! Invest in yourself!
- Start your evening by lighting a candle – this candle is especially for my girls that work from home. A few months ago I started lighting my favorite candle as a way to transition from work more to relaxing mode. Trust me, after a while you will smell that candle and your body and mind will automatically know it’s time to switch off for the night.
- Create a cooking playlist – Whatever your music taste, find (or create!) a good playlist to enjoy while cooking dinner every night. I personally love a relaxing jazz playlist, it really adds to the soothing practice of cooking.
- Grocery delivery – okay, hear me out. I know this service isn’t available everywhere but if you have access to grocery delivery and haven’t tried it yet. Do it! I personally don’t mind grocery shopping, and I swear we do it multiple times a week sometimes, but what a gamechanger it is when you are busy and overwhelmed to open your front door and find your groceries sitting there waiting for you to put them away. Plus, it helps keep you on track with your health by having a well-stocked fridge and cabinets with all the best and healthy foods.
What are some of your little luxuries that really elevate your life!? I’d love to hear in the comments 🙂
