The fact that I live in a new city every month means I am constantly on the go and it’s important for me to have a few staple items in my closet that I can rely on. From multiple pairs of sneakers (duh!) to staple denim and more, I definitely have my favorite pieces that have seen me through some amazing adventures. You know if I take something from city to city, and allow it to take up valuable real estate in my suitcase that it lives up to the hype. I thought it would be fun to look back at 2022 and share my most worn items of the year and how they’ve become essential pieces in my travel wardrobe. So if you’re looking for some inspiration in these categories, read on to find out what my favorite tried and true pieces are!
A few things I look for in staple pieces include comfort, how well they fit into my active lifestyle, and most importantly, how many different outfits I can turn use each piece in. If it doesn’t hit in all three categories, there is a very low probability something will make it into my suitcase traveling from city to city. Which honestly, is just a good rule of thumb regardless of whether you live this crazy, traveling lifestyle like me or not. I think being intentional about how many things you bring into your house is so important, because it can definitely start to become cluttered and overwhelming. That’s one lesson I am so grateful from this adventure we have been on for over two years now. Be intentional about how much stuff you accumulate versus the experiences you are giving yourself.
Some of my favorites that I found myself constantly reaching for in 2022, were the following pieces that I will continue to reach for for years to come! They are staples in my closet and definitely my most worn:
New Balance Sneakers withHigh Socks
Trucker Hats and Lack of Color Hats
Jumpsuits/Workout Onessies/Tennis Dresses/Tennis Skort for athleisure
Oversized button down shirts: easy to style with activewear, overswimwear, or with denim
What are some of your staple pieces in your closet that you reach for year after year?! I’d love to hear in the comments!
