In case I haven’t said it enough this week, I’m a big Fall fashion girlie 😉 It’s always such a refreshing break from my summer staples of onesies, casual dresses, and denim shorts to finally be able to break out some cozy (but elevated!) layers, especially for a date night. With fluctuating temperatures outside, and a variety of temps indoors at different restaurants and venues, having layers are a must this time of year. It can be lovely and warm when you leave on your date, but by the time the sun has gone done, it’s going to be a bit fresh outside for your journey home. Repeat after me: layers, layers, layers!

There are a few ways I typically like to incorporate layers with my fall wardrobe, and it usually
includes a few seasonal trends as well as some oldie but goodies:
1. Blazers are such a hot trend right now and honestly make it so easy to take an outfit from casual, weekend-wear to a fun date night outfit. I tend to go for styles that are neutral or simpler patterns (like this cute blazer) so I can wear them with just about anything in my closet.
2. Sweaters are a must this time of the year and can be thrown on over a casual tank when the temperatures start to drop, or draped over your shoulders for a fun, playful look. This $24 striped sweater has been on repeat for me lately since it’s so easy to style with a variety of looks!
3. Vests come in all shapes and sizes but two that I love and that I think work great for a date night outfit, are sweater vests and cropped puffer vests. You can create so many outfits using this seasonal item and both will last you through the winter as well.
4. Scarves usually start to make an appearance when TRUE fall hits, and the temperatures start to drop. They are such a simple way to add some flair to a neutral outfit and they also keep the chill off your neck in a draft restaurant so win-win!
5. One of the easiest ways to dress up a fall outfit, imo, is to add a neutral coatigan! Yes, you heard me a coatigan! If you are unfamiliar with what that is, it’s basically a combination of a coat and cardigan so they will have the style of a cardigan, with the
warmth of a coat! There are SO MANY cute styles out there right now, it’s hard to pick my favorites!
6. And, no fall date night outfit round-up would be complete without my love for fall wide-brim hats. I swear you could throw a hat on with your athletic gear and a blazer and instantly be ready for a date night. SO GOOD!
