The fact that I love to take care of my body, both with what I put on it as well as the foods that I eat, will come as no surprise. But with my active, travel-focused lifestyle it’s even more important to plan for healthy snacks as I never know what the kitchen amenities will be at the various places we stay every month. These staples allow me to stay on top of my hunger, keep me on track with counting macros, and have easy favorites ready to grab anytime I have a hankering.
I mostly prefer to eat whole foods as much as I can, so a lot of my snacks are things I wash, cut up, and keep in the fridge so they are ready to grab throughout the week. And then several are packaged snacks that I have vetted (in terms of nutrition and ingredient quality!) and can feel good about tossing in my bag for when I am on the go.
Here is a rundown of what I am currently loving, along with some classics that are always a part of my rotation.
- Sliced apples dipped in Greek yogurt
- Chomps
- Oat Haus granola butter drizzled on apples
- Protein Bars (my current faves are: OneBar, rX Bar, Perfect Bar, Larabar)
- Roasted chickpeas
- Quinn Almond Butter-filled pretzels
- Sliced cucumbers with hummus
- Steamed Edamame
- Smoothies
- Hard boiled eggs
