Back in September, I announced a crazy turn of events for my life in a blog post here sharing why we suddenly moved, where we moved, and so much more! Long story short, my boyfriend and I moved to Miami for a month to experience some sunshine, salty water, and the beach life! I figured it’s better late than never to post a Miami travel guide that you can reference if you’re ever visiting! To be honest, this was in the midst of 2020 and covid was still at an all time high (especially in Florida), so we mostly stayed super low key at our condo, went to the beach on our own, kept space from others, and did our own thing! We even ventured down to the Florida Keys from Miami for a day trip, so be sure to read that whole blog post here for more deets on traveling to the Keys!
We quickly learned that Miami is a city with a very vibrant atmosphere where everyone goes to play! For us, we were there for a month to work hard and play a little, so that’s what we did! It’s definitely an eclectic city with lots of fun in the sun to be had! Here is everything you need to know when visiting Miami Beach, FL:
WHERE TO STAY:
We rented a suite at the Fontainebleau via an owner we found on Vrbo! It was a great, clean, comfortable, space with a lovely pool and ocean view! We loved the full kitchen, marble bathroom details, and it even had laundry in-unit! One of the perks of staying at an owner’s suite is you can access the Fontainebleau hotel as if you were a guest- access to the gym, famous Lapis spa, housekeeping, and beach chairs/towels too! Let them know I sent you via Instagram here!
WHAT TO DO:
Relax at the pool and beach
Road trip the Florida Keys
Everglades alligator airboat tour
Wynwood Walls
South Beach and the Art Deco
Nikki Beach Club- day club with loungers/restaurant/beach access
Bike ride, walk, or run up and down the Miami Beach Boardwalk
Visit One Hotel- so aesthetically pleasing
Shopping at Bal Harbour Mall
Lincoln Street shopping in South Beach
WHERE TO EAT/DRINK:
Malibu Farm
Nobu
Pura Vida Coffee & Acai Bowls
Little Havana for Cuban food
TIPS ON GETTING AROUND:
We didn’t have a car while in Miami Beach, but got around just fine by walking or taking an uber! We did rent a car on weekends to go to the everglades, and drive up to West Palm Beach to visit my grandma! Try Turo if you want a specific rental car like we did for our convertible drive down to the Keys! 😉
Let me know if you visit Miami Beach and use this Travel Guide! I’d love to hear what you thought of your trip! XO
