Happy Christmas week! I can’t believe it’s here! I know this holiday season feels far from traditional, but there are still ways you can make this year feel special. I look forward to Christmas traditions every year and this year I’m holding on to them tight! I have fond memories growing up of receiving a new Christmas ornament each year depending on an activity I pursued or hobby I loved that year which was so special and is something I hope to continue with my children one day. The last couple years, I have enjoyed creating new traditions with my boyfriend like a gingerbread house making contest while drinking Irish coffees, and driving around looking at Christmas lights! Traditions may look a little different this year in 2020, but I asked you all what your favorite family traditions are, the ones that bring a warmth to your heart and spirit and joy into the season. So in true 2020 fashion, here are some of your amazing Christmas family traditions…
CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS SENT IN:
Christmas Eve matching pajamas + a Christmas movie
Lots of Christmas baking (I miss doing this with my mom this year!)
Advent calendar
Santacon (in years past)
Gingerbread house decorating contest
Decorate family Christmas stockings
All the kids sleep under the Christmas tree
Ugly Christmas sweater get-together with family
Christmas morning mimosas
Christmas morning, taking turns to open presents one at a time (we do this too!)
Pay a visit to the elderly
Table favors at Christmas
Cinnamon roll breakfast on Christmas morning
Drive around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights + drinking hot chocolate (my fave)
Family draws names for filling Christmas stockings
Take out Christmas Eve + watch a family movie
Spiked eggnog + Irish coffee
Find the holiday pickle ornament- that person opens the first present
Thank you so much for sharing your heart and your special family Christmas traditions with me and my blog readers this year! What a special time! I hope you truly take some time to enjoy your loved ones and enjoy some gratitude! If anything, 2020 has taught us to be thankful for what we have and what we’ve learned. Sending you ALL lots of love this holiday season!
Xo,
Torey
