Happy Friday friends! The last couple days there have been a Nor’easter here in Boston and it’s literally been AMAZING! All of the snow flurries, cozy coffee drinks, Christmas decorations, and cheery people out and about… I’m obsessed! With that being said, I’ve been drinking LOTS of hot coffee drinks lately, and have to share my favorites with you this holiday season! One thing that I’m not sure everyone is aware of is HOW MUCH SUGAR is in your typical holiday coffee drinks…it’s actually pretty disgusting, but good news: there IS a way to make them MUCH HEALTHIER and less calorie dense! I always use these shortcuts when ordering my coffee drinks out and they’re SO great if you want a yummy drink without the calories. Trust me, I’ve got you covered today…
There’s something so special about a holiday coffee drink, am I right?! The saying, “it tastes like christmas in a cup” definitely rings true for me the time of year! I seek that perfectly hot, delicious drink every year. I think I’ve finally nailed the best tasting, macro friendly, HEALTHY, holiday christmas drinks this year! Time to say goodbye to the 500+ calorie drinks (that are typically equivalent to two or three candy bars 😱) + hello to the yummy, healthy, Christmas in a cup drinks 🥰
PEPPERMINT MOCHA: macros are 1g P/10g C/3g F = 75 calories
how to order at Starbucks, ask for:
grande cafe misto
ONE pump of mocha + ONE pump peppermint
substitute almond milk
+ add a Splenda
CHESTUNIT PRALINE LATTE: macros are 1g P/14g C/2g F = 80 calories
how to order at Starbucks, ask for:
grande cafe misto
substitute almond milk
TWO pumps chestnut praline syrup
+ add a Splenda
ask for chestnut praline topping on top 😉
TOASTED WHITE MOCHA: macros are 1g P/14g C/3g F = 95 calories
how to order at Starbucks, ask for:
grande americano
ONE pump toasted white mocha sauce
THREE pumps sugar free vanilla (+ one pump of sugar free cinnamon dolce to spice it up)
steamed almond milk
AT HOME COFFEE: macros are approx. 10 calories
pour your coffee into a mug
sprinkle lots of cinnamon in
add 1/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
dropper of stevia
