I know 2020 has been quite a wild, unfortunate, and unexpected year for many, with working from home, relationships, sickness, quarantine, etc, but I wanted to take some time today to share 10 things I’m grateful for! Like most, this year has thrown some curve balls our way, but truly, when I step back and look at my life, I have A LOT to be thankful for! I always like to find the silver lining in all situations, as I’m mostly a half glass full kind of girl, so let’s spread some happiness and positive news today! I encourage you to do the same, I’m sure there is beauty in your life if you just look for it 🙂
In no particular order 😉 I’m sharing 10 things I’m grateful for in 2020. I encourage you to take a step back and write your own list this Thanksgiving!
- Health. I know this is something that not a lot of people have right now, but I am SO thankful for my health and the health of those in my family. This is something I never really had a second thought about, until this year specifically. Being the germophobe that I am, I’m especially grateful that we are safe and healthy as of right now!
- My boyfriend. He’s one of my biggest supporters with my professional life (he encouraged me to start my blog over 5 years ago), and personally too. He’s always lifting me up, making me laugh, and always a shoulder to lean on! So grateful for him + to be able to spend every day together ❤️
- Working from home. I know for some this is something that they’re not enjoying, but after working in a classroom for 5+ years, and finally being able to work for myself, this is a major accomplishment of mine! I love having the freedom to work from anywhere, which right now is in a different location each month!
- Flexibility. This sounds so crazy, but honestly it’s been such an adventure moving monthly! My boyfriend and I decided not to re-sign our lease so we’ve been exploring different cities since the summer, and it’s been so fun exploring, adventuring, and moving to a new location every 30 days. It definitely comes with some challenges, but when it comes down to it, it’s such a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that I’m loving!
- You girls + my job. These two go hand in hand because oh my gosh am I grateful for what I do everyday and to take you along with me! I worked my butt off for 5 years doing two full time jobs, until I was able to make what I do now into a living. I wake up everyday so ready to work, excited to take on another day, and share my life with all of you! It truly is a dream job and I’m so grateful for this space right now. You are all the absolute sweetest followers, that makes me feel like I have a ton of girlfriends to chat with everyday. I love the community that we’ve built here at Torey’s Treasures, so whether you’ve been here for 5 years or 5 days, thank you so much!
- Technology. This sounds silly, especially in 2020, but being able to call my parents everyday, work from anywhere in the world on my laptop, and communicate with the world at the tip of my fingertips truly amazes me!
- Movement. Being able to get up out of bed, move my body and workout daily, is such a blessing! I know that some people in our current world aren’t able to do something as simple as move everyday, and I am so grateful that I can. I definitely don’t take it for granted and get in my daily 10k steps + a workout!
- My positive outlook. Like I’ve mentioned, I’m typically a glass half full kind of girl and this is something I’m grateful for. Having the right outlook in life can make all the difference in specific situations!
- 100,000+ photos. Being a blogger, of course I have thousands of photos on my phone. The ones I’m specifically grateful are, are photos and videos I have of my grandparents to cherish their sweet and funny personalities, videos I have of my boyfriend and I from day 1, and special memories of trips I’ve been on with family! They say, “a picture is worth a thousand words” and it’s so true! I love looking back at good memories that make me smile.
- LIFE. Just being able to live, breathe, and take in all that comes my way, is enough to be grateful for! It’s not all about the things in my life, but the people and the moments in my life that make it all worth living!
What are you grateful for this year in 2020?! I challenge you to find the good in every situation. I hope you have a small and safe, yet wonderful Thanksgiving this year!
XO, Torey
