Quarantine. Social Distance. Self Isolation… whatever you want to call it, I’m sure you’re feeling the effects of covid too! As we move into six months of quarantining, I’ve taken some time lately to reflect on what I’ve learned, what’s been going on personally, and how I’ve been feeling. It definitely has thrown me for a loop, and of course like anyone, I did not see this coming at the beginning of 2020! I will admit, it has been nice to spend lots of time at home, with family, and really get grounded with my fitness and slowing down. I always try and look at the silver lining in all situations, and at the beginning of quarantine actually leaned on my readers (you girls!) to share your positive news during your quarantine which is definitely an encouraging post to read! Today I wanted to share an updated blog post, with 5 lessons I’ve learned after 6 months of quarantining here in Santa Barbara…
With all of the stress, uncertainty, and uneasiness going on in the world right now, I think it’s so important to take a look into your own life, and reflect on what you are grateful for! I’m grateful for so many little things during this quarantine, but here are 5 lessons I’ve learned:
- Slow down: this was almost a forced thing during covid for all of us, but it made me realize how important it is to slow down, and take life one day at a time. Appreciate each moment instead of letting it rush by!
- Smile with your eyes: this is so crucial while wearing a mask out and about! Smiling with your eyes is one way to show a simple act of kindness. PS- my favorite + cutest masks are linked in this blog post!
- Be patient and kind: this sounds so simple, but is easier said than done! When dealing with anyone at the grocery store, the bank, the post office, etc, it’s so important to practice patience and kindness. Everyone is going through a tough battle and struggle right now, so this is so key!
- Appreciate your health: of course now more than ever, it’s SO vital to take some time to show your body some love and appreciate your health. Not everyone can get up in the morning, go for a walk, and move their body, so be sure to not take your health for granted! I’ve been loving my daily walks, and shared my top things I use daily for my walks on this blog post!
- Pivot and adapt: there are a lot of changes going on, personally, and in our world, so it’s important to pivot and adapt to whatever comes your way! Being flexible and able to go with the flow is a great trait to have. Speaking of, I’ll have an announcement at the end of this month, so you won’t want to miss it (be sure to sign up here to be the first to know)..
What lesson have you learned during quarantine?! I’d love to hear below…
XO, Torey
