I’ve recently had a few requests to share my favorite designer bags that I own and why I love them! Over the years, I feel fortunate enough to have worked hard and build up my own special handbag collection. Each bag has a special meaning connected to a life event, time, place, or accomplishment that led me to the purchase which makes it super special every time I wear the bag! Today I’m diving into sharing a little more info behind each bag and what I love about them. I’m also sharing how I clean them, store them, and where I buy my designer bags.
WHERE I BUY MY BAGS:
It varies- most of these were bought brand new at Nordstrom, or SSense, however, one was purchased from Julia Rose Boston (an authentic designer bag sourcer). Another great place to look for used, authentic bags is The Real Real or Fashionphile!
HOW I CARE FOR MY BAGS:
I recently found this Leather Cleaner that works wonders in helping maintain their cleanliness and softness. It’s under $20 and highly recommended by bag enthusiasts!
HOW I STORE MY BAGS:
I like to keep them in their dust bag, and on my clothing rack shelf, stuffed with the paper inside. This will help maintain their shape over time!
After having my eye on this gorgeous Dior Book Tote for awhile, I finally pulled the trigger. I had been wanting it for awhile in either navy or burgundy, I found the burgundy at a great sale price, and decided it was out of the box from what I’m used to looking for in bags and something new! I also love the bigger shape + sturdiness of the bag which is actually super durable. It’s a nice fabric material which seems easy to wipe clean if needed. My first use was carrying it as my “carry on” to Nantucket and it worked great sitting on the top of my rolling suitcase and fit SO MUCH stuff! I foresee me using it in the summer as a beach or pool tote as well.
This Gucci Marmont Matelasse bag was my second ever designer purchase when I hit a huge milestone with my blog and instagram! Even though was a huge purchase, I felt so accomplished and worthy of this gorgeous bag. I still love it so much to this day and always reach for it! Surprisingly it can hold a lot in such a small space, including all the essentials- phone, wallet, keys. I love that it’s white (although pretty sensitive leather), but since I wear a lot of neutrals, it’s perfect for my wardrobe. Also happy that my denim doesn’t rub off on the soft white leather.
This highly sought after, hard-to-find, limited edition Louis Vuitton Reverse Pochette Metis is super special to me because it was my biggest bag splurge yet. I love that reverse monogram (which is very rare, especially in this style) and know that it is a bag I’ll have forever, and hopefully pass on to my daughter one day. I love that it’s the perfect everyday size- I find myself reaching for it over and over again! It fits everything including my phone, wallet, keys, lip gloss, gum, sunglasses, and even a little more. It’s caviar leather is super durable, hard to scratch, and very sturdy. I love that it goes with most neutral colors and then some. Definitely recommend a Pochette Metis style bag- whether it’s in this reverse monogram or not, it’s a must-have, perfect for everyday, easy to carry, style!
This Chloe Mini Marcie was actually my VERY FIRST designer bag purchase! After celebrating a few blog milestones, I decided this bag was the perfect everyday, match everything, casual or dressy type bag that I would use all the time, and oh my gosh was I right! I was so happy to purchase this, I remember the feeling so well! If you’re looking to invest in your first designer bag, THIS is the one! I seriously carried it every single day for YEARS and it still looks brand new! It comes in a ton of different colors, but again, the leather is so durable it’ll look gorgeous forever. I love the simplicity of the shape + the fact that it fits all the essentials- phone, keys, card case, lip gloss. A must have in your wardrobe or handbag collection!
Although I love this gorgeous YSL belt bag, and it being my first YSL purchase, I didn’t find it as useful as my other bags that are crossbody style (my favorite). It’s perfect if you’re going to a concert, outing, or event, however, I didn’t find myself reaching for it often. I’m on the hunt for another YSL bag that will be more practical in my everyday lifestyle!
I purchased this Chloe Faye backpack one year during New York Fashion Week, so it holds a special meaning to me. I love that it’s versatile and can be worn as a backpack or as a shoulder bag- plus, it’s so roomy and fits everything and anything you can imagine inside! It’s a very unique neutral color, but surprisingly matches a lot of outfits! Although the suede is very soft, the leather is very durable!
This one-of-a-kind Louis Vuitton Montsouris backpack is from Vintage Boho Bags– where they give a second life to used Louis Vuitton bags. Therefore the leather fringe is all upcycled and attached for a unique look! It’s super boho which is a fun twist on a designer bag! I used it once as a carry-on and it fit my laptop, toiletry bags, snacks, wallet, and much more!
What’s your favorite designer bag?! I’d love to hear what you have your eyes on too 🙂
