MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITIONS:Â
- Cutting down a real Christmas tree: We used to go to a Christmas tree farm every single year by my house and yell âtimberâ as it fell from my dad sawing the stump. I love the smell of real Christmas trees!
- Baking: My mom and I always make our secret recipe of Scandinavian Bars and Christmas Sugar Cookies to deliver to friends…I’m actually at her house taking a “cookie break” right now as I smell the delicious cinnamon-gooey monkey bread being cooked!
- Decorating:Â I love adding ornaments to the tree with Christmas music on. Looking at each ornament always brings back childhood memories, and I would get a new one each year!
- Advent Calendar:Â This is a given, who doesnât love a chocolate a day?!
- Opening one gift of our choice on Christmas Eve: Growing up I always chose one gift to open before Santa arrived
- Watching Christmas movies: Specifically, a Christmas Story (Ralphie is one of our favorites)
- Driving around looking at Christmas lights:Â This is one my boyfriend and I have been doing together the last couple years! Weâll go out to dinner to our favorite place and then get cozy and drive around looking at the best houses in town. This year we upgraded and went on the Christmas Trolley around Santa Barbara to see Christmas lights at all the best houses in town while drinking some vino đ
- This year I hope to have yummy cinnamon rolls + coffee in bed on Christmas morning đÂ
YOUR FAMILY TRADITIONS:
- Matching pajamas
- Christmas movies all month long
- Baking and decorating Christmas cookies
- Decorating your tree with memorable ornaments from vacations/adventures
- Hannukah with family and friends
- Cinnamon buns Christmas morning
- Christmas champagne toast
- Beach walks (I’ll be doing this one this year, can’t wait!)
- Sitting by the fire with Irish coffee (okay 100% doing this too!)
Thank you so much for sharing all of your family traditions this time of year! It really is a great reminder to think about why we celebrate this season and be thankful for all the little things in life! I’m definitely grateful for those who surround me, my health, and cozy new home I moved into this year đ
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FRIENDS! XO
