I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season and you’re enjoying this busy time! I wrote this blog post flying back to the U.S.A. on my second international trip in the month of November (omg haha), but SO worth it!!
A few of you on Instagram who watched my stories over the weekend mentioned you’d love a travel guide on my Mexico trip, so here we are 😉 My boyfriend and I traveled to Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita, Mexico over Thanksgiving weekend and had the best trip relaxing, exploring, and adventuring! In today’s blog post I’ll share our favorite spots we discovered and things we loved while visiting for 4 days!

Puerto Vallarta:
- Stayed at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta which was close to the airport, near the marina district, and a short 15 minute uber into the Malecon area and Zona Romantica. GREAT place for families and couples- we loved the gym, buffet breakfast, pool bar, and beach area (with complimentary stand up paddle board and kayak rentals). You can also jet ski, go parasail, boogie board, etc from this beach. This hotel also has a great hibachi restaurant, Mexican restaurant, and we loved our ocean view room!
- Zona Romantica was the coolest little gem of Puerto Vallarta with narrow streets, vendors, cool beach bar spots, and good vibes all around. We had a margarita on the beach with our feet in the sand (no idea the name, just a little bar but there are lots of options) and then ate at Fajita Republic a block up the street and loved the ambiance!
- Malecon- pretty touristy, you can see the “Puerto Vallarta” life-size sign, actually but low key compared to what we were expecting
Sayulita:
- This town is a MUST visit! We are already planning our return to this cute, vibrant, Mexico-style beach town! We spent ALL day here from 11-9pm and didn’t want to leave it was just the absolute best. Travel tip: you can take uber there but you’ll have to take a taxi back to PV
- We checked out the gorgeous Villa Amor boutique hotel, around the corner from there is a hidden and quiet beach called Playa Los Muertos which is a cool beach to walk to right behind a cemetery!
- The main beach is a short walk away and called Playa Sayulita! There are tons of beach and street vendors, bars, restaurants, beach activities, and lots of action which we love! We drank cheap beer and had an insanely good margarita, ate delicious quesadillas with chips and guac, frolicked through the ocean, got a $18/1 hour beach massage, wandered around the quaint yet vibrant streets, and ate dinner at the trendiest outdoor seating spot called La Rustica!
Overall: pack light and casual, enjoy the sunshine and water, eat and drink all the cheap drinks and food, and enjoy the Mexican lifestyle! įVIVA LA!
