Many people set New Year resolutions that are health and fitness oriented and I’m here today to talk all things fitness motivation to ensure you meet your 2019 health and fitness goals…
Personally, I set goals throughout the year and try and stick to them, but this year I’m setting a goal for myself to get in the best shape of my life for my 30th birthday in March. I’ve been working extra hard lately at the gym and have been super intentional with my health choices, so I’m super determined to reach my goal.
Hopefully these 5 tips will help you reach your fitness goals in 2019! Write them down + stick to a schedule. That’s the best thing for you! I swear by routines and consistency…
Here are my 5 tips that will help you reach your health and fitness goals in 2019! So excited for a new year, new outlook, and new opportunity to get our health in check…
- Sleep + Water: Get 8 hours of rest a night AND drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water.I typically try and drink 90ish ounces of water a day! It really does wonders for your skin, metabolism, and health in general.
- Do a workout you LOVE: I just finished 24 weeks of the PWR program on the @sweat app from Kelsy Wells and couldn’t be happier. I feel stronger than I’ve ever been- and totally see more arm, butt, and ab definition (toning and not bulking). I’ve also done the BBG program from Kayla Itsines on the same app (see my results here).
- Eat Clean: I’ve heard this so many times, but in the past 3 months realized it’s REALLY true! Abs really are made in the kitchen. Although I don’t currently follow any strict diet or nutrition plan, I’ve been super intentional with my the food I’m fueling my body with and notice a huge difference. Before I always relied on. my quick metabolism and good genes to stay “thin” but I’ve realized that by feeding by body lean protein, veggies, healthy fats, and good carbs my body can really reach another level of “fit”. I’m excited for the holidays to be behind us to avoid all the temptation. I must add, I have a major sweet tooth after every meal, so the best thing has been to drink this healthy hot cocoa after dinner. It calms my mind and is actually tasty. Also-keep in mind, you can’t deprive yourself and if you need to indulge in pancakes at brunch or cake for a birthday that’s A-OK! Trust me 🙂
- Dedication and Consistency: Remember that this is a healthy lifestyle choice and is a marathon not a sprint. Motivation is what gets you started, and habit is what keeps you going. Be realistic with your goals, and think about creating daily routines that are attainable to help you reach your goals.
- Have fun 🙂 I’m serious- enjoy the workouts, get your friends to a workout class with you, believe in yourself when cooking new recipes and trust the entire process! You’ve got this.
