I think a lot of you follow me on Instagram and know by now that I prefer my morning workouts. Specifically, my 5:00am morning workouts (omg)! I used to be the complete opposite and prefer afternoon workouts, but in the past few months have switched around my morning routine. I’ve gotten SO many questions lately asking for motivational tips and advice to become a morning person and tackle a workout first thing. So today I’m super excited to share 5 tips to being motivated that have worked for me personally. Let’s get to it…
Before we dig in to 5 tips for early morning workout motivation, my #1 recommendation that I ALWAYS refer back to when I find myself lacking enthusiasm to workout, is new workout clothes like this outfit from Bloomingdales! It really is the best first step on getting to the gym. I’ve found myself feeling more confident and ready to push myself hard in the gym this week after wearing the cutest Stella McCartney outfit that includes these blue leggings + white top! I found some other cute and comfortable workout clothes at Bloomingdales that you can shop below. Just click the image to shop:
Here we go, 5 tips to ensuring you can wake up EARLY + WORKOUT:
- Make your smoothie the night before, pack your lunch + snacks in a bag in the fridge, so it’s easy to grab and go.
- Lay out your gym clothes, shoes + headphones right next to your bed.
- Have your work outfit + laptop bag packed up and ready to go the night before.
- Hit snooze if you must (sounds crazy but listen): FORCE yourself to get up and out of bed before the alarm goes off again from being snoozed in approx. 9 minutes. It really does work!
- Make a motivating workout playlist + do a workout you LOVE: my jams are usually old school hip hop/rap songs (haha) but I love this playlist I made and can’t get enough of it. I also am hooked on my PWR workout I’ve been doing, and am on Week 10!
I hope this has helped motivate and inspire you to plan and prepare for your workout the night before, set your alarm, and get up for an early morning workout! Remember: consistency is key. Trust me, just stick to it and it’ll finally be a habit that you can’t get enough of! If for some reason I have to miss a morning workout, I totally dread going in the afternoons- it’s crazy how much my mindset has changed by creating such a healthy habit!
A huge thank you to Bloomingdales for partnering with me in today’s blog post! And thank you for supporting all of the brands I love to work with on Torey’s Treasures!
