Since Summer started, I switched up my workout routine and cannot tell you how OBSESSED I am with the program I’m currently doing! I decided to start the PWR program by Kelsey Wells and switch things up after seeing great results and needing a change of pace from BBG by Kayla Itsines (see my BBG FAQ + before/after 12 week BBG results).
Today I’m going to be sharing a little about what the PWR fitness program looks like and why I love it SO much, as well as a ton of activewear that’s still marked down and available at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

What is PWR by Kelsey Wells and how does someone access the workout?
- It is a gym-based 12-week program (she just released 2.0 aka 12 more weeks) resistance workouts to help you gain strength and lean muscle! They are targeted hypertrophy workouts using weights, gym equipment and resistance bands!
- Download the Sweat App on your phone (that’s what I did). I purchased the 1-year membership (way cheaper than a personal trainer). On the app you’ll see a few different workout programs including BBG and PWR. I LOVE that it’s a step-by-step guide, where Kelsey shows the actual movement + explains how to do that particular move. It counts the reps for you + has a timer that is interactive. It is SO easy to follow along and complete each workout correctly with the app walking you through it all!
- Each week there are 4 resistance workouts (+1 optional) and 3 cardio sessions encouraged. I always do a 20-minute cardio (running, stairmaster, elliptical) before each weighted resistance workout and then the other 2 days I’m not doing the PWR program I’ll take a spin class and a HIIT bootcamp class. Why do I LOVE the program so much?!
- Every day is a new muscle group, a new workout, a new motivation to keep going.
- The app keeps me on track, focused, on-time, and is SO user friendly!
- It feels SO GOOD knowing how to use the workout equipment at the gym. I’m feeling much more confident and much stronger already and I’m only on week 6!
- Kelsey Wells body is also motivation enough 😉

What are my fitness goals with this program?
- To gain lean muscle and become more toned. I also want some visible lean muscle in my abdomen area and it wouldn’t hurt to gain a little more of a booty!
