Ever since I turned 16 and got my license, I was eager to get a job, support myself, work hard, and show responsibility. I remember using my babysitting money and first job money to go shopping with friends where I’d spend very wisely. Fast forward to now, I’m a blogger and a teacher, and I’d say I’m still pretty methodical about my spending habits. This lifestyle has taught me to mix and match higher end designer pieces with trendy and affordable items… I love when these two worlds meet!
I personally love higher end designer items but love them even more when they’re paired with lower priced trendy items to give the entire outfit some balance. When you’re looking to splurge, make sure you keep it to classic and versatile pieces (read 2 pieces worth the splurge here).
In today’s look, the only thing over $55 are my denim, bag, and sunglasses! And guess what?! These adorable $48 loafers are a fraction of the price to an almost identical designer pair and you would never know their price tag!
An item like this Gucci bag (which I’m obsessed with) tends to hold its value over time, so it’s a great way to mix in designer items! Despite it being white, I’ve actually used this bag year round, and am still so obsessed with it that I recommend it to anyone and everyone as a great designer investment! I definitely think the bag elevates the look and makes the leopard loafers and striped top seem much more luxurious. Another item I tend to buy that’s higher end, is a quality pair of denim that can be worn over and over for years to come!
I have found that the best (and my favorite) place to shop for pieces of all price points is Nordstrom. Not only do they have amazing perks like free shipping and free returns, but their customer service is always so kind and helpful.
Remember that mixing high and low fashion should be fun! I’m pretty sure that I’ll never stop mixing designer pieces with affordable trendy items for many years to come! If you have any high/low price point mixing tips, I’d love to hear your thoughts 😉 As always, thank you so much for stopping by Torey’s Treasures today… I hope you have a great weekend!
A huge thank you to Nordstrom for partnering with me in today’s blog post! And thank you for supporting all of the brands I love to work with on Torey’s Treasures!
