I’ve recently switched up my daily routine, more specifically my morning routine. I’ve had a lot of questions on Instagram about it, so I figured I’d address all your questions right here in a blog post. After 3 weeks of sticking to it, I can officially say that I absolutely love my new routine! Let’s get into more details on what my day to day looks like…
If you read this post on how I balance blogging and teaching full time, then you know my “free time” was extremely limited, and every minute of every day was occupied. I weighed all of my options and decided that waking up way earlier than before (I’m talking 4:45am) would be the best to free up my afternoons and evenings for blogging. It was hard for me at first, but definitely got easier as time went on. I started a private Facebook accountability group HERE that has been great motivation for me and other women too! Feel free to join, we’d love to have you 🙂
Here is my morning routine in a nutshell:
4:45am– my alarm goes off, I don’t push snooze (and tell myself that I’m already awake, just DO IT). I lay out my socks, shoes, workout leggings, tank, and sports bra the night before. I lay my keys right on top, so I have to do minimal thinking this early in the morning.
5:00am– I don’t eat anything before the gym, but if you feel like you need to I highly suggest a banana. On my 5 minute drive, I will take one of these WM Nutrition pre-workout supplements (take the powder right out of the packet- no water)! They are all natural and give me the boost of energy I need! Use code: torey50 at checkout for 50% off your order!
5:10am– I usually take make it to the gym and head straight for a treadmill. I always start my mornings with a warm-up to get the blood flowing. Some mornings I’ll do treadmill sprints, some mornings I’ll walk fast on an incline, and some mornings I’ll just jog. I’m currently still making my way through the BBG workout program (read all about it in this blog post), and LOVE listening to this pump-up playlist I made right HERE. Be sure to save it to your Spotify playlist on your phone’s app!
6:10am- My drive from the gym to my house is about 5 minutes, so I make it home about this time and turn the coffee maker on right away. I hop in the shower, and start getting ready for my day.
6:45am– I make a this delicious and super nutritious Fab 4 Smoothie to take on the go with me on my 45 minute drive to school. I’ve shared the recipe on my instagram stories before, and it is currently saved on my “health” highlights, but here is the recipe:
- ½ banana
- 4 frozen strawberries
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbs chia seeds
- 1 scoop protein powder (I like vanilla)
- 1 scoop peanut butter
- 2 handfuls spinach
And that’s my morning routine! It’s efficient, quick, and easy! This allows me time in the afternoon and evenings to complete errands and most importantly work on blog content. I ALWAYS go to bed by 9:00pm. It’s super important, especially for the early morning wake up call! Let me know if you try my morning routine 😉 I’d love to hear from you and what you think works best!
