Day 3 at New York Fashion Week was definitely one for the books! It was the busiest yet one of the most exhilarating 🙂 Be sure to read Day 1 and Day 2 before reading today’s post! I’m planning on posting an FAQ blog post about NYFW for those who are interested in attending, or are curious about the who, what, when, where, and why… so be sure to email (torey@toreystreasures.com) or message me your questions on Instagram @toreystreasures 🙂

I started off the day bright and early with a photoshoot at the Flatiron Building which was so picturesque! New York City seems to wake up later than normal, so being up and out of the hotel before 8am seemed like quite the feat already. I took a quick photoshoot break at The New York Edition for a quick brain dust latte + yogurt/granola break. I continued the morning with another photoshoot in Chelsea area before heading off to my first event: backstage with Aveda at the Tibi runway show!
This was set in the most incredible building with the best view of the Brooklyn Bridge! When I think of runway shows, I typically think dark room and bright lights. This was the complete opposite: bright room and no lights except for natural light! I loved it 🙂 I had the opportunity to get my hair braided in a loose texture braid by an Aveda hair specialist which I couldn’t pass up! It was fun to have a different hairstyle than the usual. Some fashion trends I noticed at the Tibi show: bold colors and two piece sets.

I then headed straight to the Banana Republic presentation with Olivia Palermo, however, the outdoor show was quickly put to a halt due to some unexpected protestors! I decided to head straight to the Rebecca Minkoff store in Soho where the show was being held for a champagne after party! I ended up loving all the velvet and detailed purse trends, however walked away with this cute purchase that was actually part of the runway show and I know I’ll get lots of use out of.
By this point in the day (evening) I was definitely running out of steam and the best pick-me-up I could think of was: $1 NYC pizza! YES! I definitely bought two giant slices and went back to the hotel to eat in bed. Perfection 😉 Before getting too cozy, I decided to freshen up for the evening head to the rooftop and snap a few final photos before my amazing weekend came to an end!
I headed right for the LIKEtoKNOW.it rooftop party where I met up with allllll my blogging friends! We had such a blast dancing to the DJ, drinking champagne, chit chatting and catching up, and taking the coolest 360 photos! rewardStyle parties are ALWAYS one for the books 🙂 And that was the best NYFW finale I could have asked for!
I flew out bright and early the next morning and finally made it back to Santa Barbara, CA in time to get some shut eye and rest up for a full week of teaching! If you haven’t read the 7 most valuable lessons I learned while attending NYFW as a first timer, GO READ IT HERE 🙂
Last but not least, CHEERS to a successful New York Fashion Week!!! I appreciate you following along on my exciting journey to NYFW! Don’t forget to email me some questions you may have and I can’t wait to put that post together for you 🙂
