To say my 27th birthday has been amazing would be an understatement…I started celebrating last weekend and I can’t imagine it being more perfect than it already has been! I feel so blessed and thankful to be loved and treated like a princess. Everyone deserves to feel special and loved on their day! Let the celebrations continue…
2 (of the many) THINGS I’VE LEARNED IN MY 20’S SO FAR:
- Treat people the way you want to be treated. It’s so simply to be kind to others, so be sure you are. Everyone is fighting their own battle, so simply by saying “hi”, by smiling, or by hugging someone a little bit longer can turn their whole day around!
- Do everything that makes yourself happy. For someone like me who likes to put others first, sometimes I have to remind myself to do what I love and be with who I love. They say that you are an average of the 5 people you surround yourself with, so pick wisely and you will bring yourself growth, happiness, and success.
7 THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME:
- I used to have a major fear of flying, until meeting my boyfriend. We have a long distance relationship which is really hard for me sometimes, but getting to see his handsome and outgoing self every few weeks makes it all worth it! I’ve learned to cope with this fear by reading, listening to a podcast, meditating, coloring in my adult coloring book, and maybe even having a glass of wine before take off. I think I have finally (almost) conquered this huge fear of mine by flying so often!
- My body craves a sweet treat after every meal, especially dinner. I indulge in this almost every night by having a little ice cream, chocolate, or anything that is around the house. I can’t help it!
- I absolutely love working out, not so much for the burn I feel during and after a workout, but mostly so I can eat whatever I want to eat. I obsess over going to the gym and taking spin classes, HIT classes, and hot yoga, but I also love to ski or bike around the neighborhood. Afterwards I always feel so happy and accomplished, which makes it all worth it!
- I’ve been obsessed with blogs for along time, even before starting my own here. I used to (and still do) follow a few lifestyle and style bloggers daily, which inspired me (with my boyfriend’s assistance) to take the leap and start Torey’s Treasures. It’s the best creative outlet to keep my mind focused and help me reach some personal goals I’ve set for myself!
- Some of my past activities growing up include competitive irish dancing, ballet, and tap dance, until my transition to playing golf in high school. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to do whatever interested me at the time, and try and become better at it everyday.
- I usually have a constant hand-written to do list and calendar on me at all times. Call me old school, but I love the satisfaction and feeling of using a pen to cross off everything I’ve accomplished, little or big.
- Some of the littlest things make me the happiest. Like going to bed early (I think I have an old soul), or surprise notes from my boyfriend, thoughtful gestures from my family members or friends, looking at photos from memorable times, or something as simple as doing my favorite activity like sunset bike rides, or enjoying a stack of pancakes in the morning.
I’m really looking forward to this year and what life has in store for me! I can’t imagine life getting better than it did when I turned 26, but I have a feeling there’s amazing things coming my way! Thanks for following me along on this blogging journey 🙂
