This time of year always takes me back to my childhood memories of Halloween: Sorting and trading candy from trick-or-treating around the neighborhood with friends, and my mom’s homemade costumes for my brother and I. The costumes were always creative, always very detailed, and always my favorites. I especially loved the years I dressed up as a bunny rabbit, a clown, and Jasmine from Aladdin! The costumes for children these days don’t even come close to what my mom made; they are looking more cheap, cheesy, and unoriginal than ever. I’m grateful to have had a talented mom that took the time to create the costume I always wished for! This year since I’ve outgrown the dress up stage (I think it’s time), I’m opting for a soft sweater with dancing skeletons that doesn’t even come close to my mom’s creations, but it’s still pretty cute and thematic! 🙂
